The gold-tin eutectic solder is at the eutectic point, the melting point is 280 °C, and the soldering temperature is only 300 °C ~ 310 °C, which is only 20 °C ~ 30 °C higher than the melting point. The soldering temperature range of gold-tin alloys is suitable for component assembly that requires high stability. At the same time, these components can also withstand subsequent assembly using lead-free solder at relatively lower temperatures. The assembly temperature of these solders is about 260 ℃. When these solders are melted and soldered, the gold-tin alloy solder joints will not fail.
Although gold-tin alloys have a lower melting temperature, they are still hard solders. The strength of the welded joint is the primary indicator for judging the welding quality. The higher the strength, the higher the reliability, and vice versa.
The yield strength of gold-tin alloy solder is very high at room temperature, and its strength can meet the requirements of device air tightness even at a temperature of 250 ℃ ~ 260 ℃.
